Look closely and you will spot the tiny paw prints wandering between the mushrooms, as if a curious terrier had been exploring the forest floor. It is the kind of detail you find on the third look, not the first. Charming, never cutesy.
The print
Little red-capped toadstools, acorns and oak leaves are scattered across soft cream in gentle gouache, with a light trail of paw prints weaving through. Touches of rust, moss and toffee brown keep it earthy. A sage reverse finishes the woodland mood.
